 | Il Casale B&B is a two storied building dating 1600 with various depandances. It is surrounded by a park of two hectares, the view is across the plain in the south, facing the sea in front of you. All rooms are in the depandances and all have bathtub or shower. The large internal car park may also be used for coaches. | | Within half an hour one may reach Rome by bus, train or car to visit st.Peters Cathedral , the Colusseum, the Roman Forum. The enviable climate, mild in winter and cool in summer has always aided the Alban Hills in being appreciated by travellers from ancient to modern times. Even for those just passing throught, this is an ideal stopping place southwards to/ from Rome or from Leonardo da Vinci or Ciampino Airport (only 20 minutes from the highway del Sole). |

The volcanic landforms of the Alban Hills are of great geological and naturalistic interest. These, the nearest ones to Rome, enlose the Roman country-side to the south-east, appearing with their highest peaks up to the centre of the capital. The Castelli Romani, wich offer architectural beauty, archaelogical sites of great historial renown and striking atmosphere, are immersed in a rich background of wine making and gastronomic traditions. These towns are set around beautiful lakes, surrounded by woodlands. From them, ones glance can look down towards the green fields of Pontina Plain, and then, upwards from the promontory of Monte Circeo and the islands of Ponza and Ventotene. As well as being famous for gastronomical and touristic culture, i Castelli Romani also offer opportunities for sport (Windsurfing on Lake Albano, horsemanship, hang-gliding). The lakes, the paths through the woods, the green meadows, flowery rocks ideally present themsewes for autodoor activities. For visitors who prefer peaceful walks the Alban Hills offer a choice of excursions of great beauty and striking views. The Regional Park and Velletri Council have pain-stakingly worked out various itineraries. | | Directions | By CAR: travel along Via Appia Nuova to 35,500 km (between the towns Genzano di Roma and Velletri) then follow the road signs indicating Via Acqua Lucia and Chiesa Madonna del Rosario. After 200 metres you will see the church on the right. Opposite the church is "L'Elce" (Via Acqua Lucia n.74). Continue for 50 meters on the right to find "Il Casale" at n. 27. From the motorway the nearest toll-booth is Valmontone(A2 Rome-Naples). Follow the signs Artena->Lariano->Velletri->Rome-> for 30 minutes and you will arrive at Via Appia 35,500 km. Visitors arriving from Rome may decide to take the Panoramic Route which follows "La Via Dei Laghi" (the Lake Road) at the beginning of Via Appia Nuova (after Ciampino Airport). | | Transportation | By BUS: Bus stop at 300 metres from L'Elce and Il Casale. The bus takes visitors to Velletri and Rome.
By TRAIN: Velletri railway station ( 5 kms away), San Gennaro Station (3 kms away) with frequent trains to Termini Station (Rome city centre). The cost of a day ticket B.I.R.G. is 6,00 without any limit of distance in Zone B of Latium and which can be used on trains and buses in the city centre. Visitors are assured whit a shuttle service from the B&B to Velletri and S.Gennaro stations. | | Airport | Ciampino (20 km.) - Fiumicino (55 km.) |
